Tehran on Tuesday rejected a claim by Riyadh that it had broken up an Iran-trained terror cell.

“The repetitive and worthless accusations of the Saudi rulers are not the way for Riyadh to achieve its goals, and our recommendation is that Saudi Arabia choose the path of honesty and wisdom instead of worthless scenarios,” said Foreign Ministry spokesman Saeed Khatibzadeh on Iranian state TV, according to Reuters.

Saudi Arabia announced on Monday that it had arrested 10 people, and captured weapons and explosives, earlier this month from a terrorist cell that was trained by Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, the report said.

Iran has been blamed by Washington and Riyadh for a drone-and-missile attack on Saudi Arabia last year. The Iran-backed Houthi rebels in Yemen also continue to launch attacks on Saudi Arabia.
