In “Something Disguised as Love,” Israeli author Galia Oz claims that the literary icon “serially abused” her until his death in 2018.
“Mourning the loss of one of Israel’s prominent literary voices,” tweeted Israel’s Foreign Ministry spokesman Emmanuel Nahshon. “A loss for us all and for the world. May his memory be blessed.”
He earned numerous awards, including the Israel Prize, France’s Prix Femina and Officier des Arts et Lettres, Italy’s Primo Levi Prize and the Frankfurt Peace Prize.
