A Spanish railway construction company announced on Friday that it had rejected an Israeli tender to build part of the Jerusalem railway because of “the occupation of land through which will pass a section of the railway.” According to a report in Al-Wattan Voice, Construcciones y Auxiliar de Ferrocarriles (CAF, or Construction and Other Railway Services) announced that it “refuses to build a section of the railway in Jerusalem because [it] included Palestinian land that will be confiscated, in violation of the resolutions of international legitimacy.”

The report indicated that due to the tender’s plan to build through eastern parts of Israel’s capital, workers also refused to work on the project.
