During his visit to Tel Hashomer, the prime minister urged new IDF recruits to focus on defeating Hamas, freeing hostages and securing Israel’s borders.
During the event, the Netanyahus also met with Yaron and Ditsa Or, the parents of 32-year-old hostage Avinatan Or.
“We are not settling for recovery; we are building a stronger, safer future,” Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich said.
“The die is cast. We are going for a full occupation of the Gaza Strip,” an unnamed senior Israeli official told Israeli media.
The Israeli premier called for unity to accomplish the goals set out at the start of the war: defeating Hamas, freeing the hostages and ensuring Gaza never again poses a threat to the Jewish state.
The propaganda proves that the terrorist organization does not intend to agree to a hostage deal, said Benjamin Netanyahu.
“While the State of Israel allows the entry of humanitarian aid to the residents of Gaza, Hamas terrorists deliberately starve our hostages and document them in a cynical and malicious manner,” said the Israeli premier.
However, “there is one big obstacle and everyone knows what it is—Hamas. It is persisting in its refusal,” said Netanyahu.
The Israeli prime minister warned that recognizing a Palestinian state would reward Hamas and endanger British security.
In the Gaza Strip, the Israel Defense Forces has “a job to finish,” said the Israeli premier.
