The prime minister has been conducting most of his work from a secured location underneath the Prime Minister’s Office in Jerusalem.
The Israeli premier condemned as an “organized witch hunt” the “wild and unstoppable attacks” against his office in connection with leak and misconduct allegations.
“In recent days, I have spoken three times with U.S. President-elect Donald Trump,” the prime minister revealed.
The operation, as well as the killing of Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah, was opposed by senior defense establishment officials, said the Israeli premier.
The Israeli National Security Council told Israelis to remain in their hotel rooms, avoid wearing anything with Jewish or Israeli symbols and to return home early.
Just under half of those surveyed said they supported the decision to fire Gallant, according to Direct Polls.
The attorney general defended the prime minister’s decision to fire any minister whom he felt couldn’t carry out his policies.
The two men “agreed to work together for Israel’s security and discussed the Iranian threat.”
Critics claim the Israeli defense minister’s sacking was political.

“In the midst of war, more than ever, complete trust is required between the prime minister and the defense minister,” Netanyahu stated.
