The prime minister’s office stated that “there is only one compass, which is the war objectives as set by the Cabinet,” after the defense minister criticized the war effort as aimless.
“We severely damaged Iran’s defense capabilities and its ability to produce missiles aimed at us. The strike was precise and powerful, achieving all its objectives.”
“The heroism of the fallen and the injured has ensured our continued existence. We have the duty to complete the mission,” said IDF Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Herzi Halevi.
The war has claimed painful sacrifices from the community, but solidarity and a sense of shared fate with the Jewish state remain strong.
“The two sides discussed the issue of the governing framework in Gaza on the day after the war,” according to Netanyahu’s office.
“Iran tried to eliminate the prime minister of Israel. It will not escape responsibility,” said a senior government official.
The Israeli prime minister said he heard from U.S., Austrian, British, French, Greek and Italian officials who denounced the drone strike on his home.
“The fact that these attacks were carried out by an Iranian proxy—Hezbollah—does not absolve Lebanon of its responsibility. And it will not be absolved.”
The armed UAV hit a building near the residence. The premier and his wife were not home at the time.
“There should be no red lines on Israel’s response against the real perpetrator: Iran,” former U.S. national security advisor John Bolton said.
“Israel will guarantee the safety of all those who return our hostages. But to those who would harm our hostages, I have another message: Israel will hunt you down and bring you to justice.”
The U.S. president “commended the IDF for its excellent operation” to eliminate Hamas terror chief Yahya Sinwar.
