The IDF announced on Monday that it had destroyed a kilometer-long (0.6 miles) Hamas tunnel in the Beit Lahiya area amid its ongoing operations in northern and central Gaza.
Separately, Israeli troops also uncovered a rocket production workshop, as well as launchers, according to the Israel Defense Forces. Dozens of terrorists have been eliminated, the military added.
“IDF troops will continue to operate against terrorist organizations in the Gaza Strip to protect the citizens of the State of Israel,” the IDF said.
The IDF resumed operations in the Gaza Strip in mid-March, as the January ceasefire, which witnessed the release of both Israeli hostages and Palestinian prisoners—including convicted terrorists with the blood of dozens of victims on their hands—fell apart. In that time, the IDF has eliminated several high- and mid-ranking political and military figures.
Though the military on Monday ordered a mass evacuation of Rafah and surrounding towns on Monday, military officials said there is currently no planned full-scale operation in the southern Gaza city, according to Ynet.
