New Israel Defense Forces Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Eyal Zamir launched an unannounced military drill, “Wheel of the Zodiac,” to evaluate preparedness for base and outpost intrusions.

The exercise, managed by the Operations Directorate, simulates a multi-directional attack on the Ramat David Airbase in the Jezreel Valley to test rapid response under combat conditions.

Increased movement of security forces and explosion sounds may be noticeable in the area, these reports warned.

Simultaneously, the Defense Establishment Comptroller Unit, led by IDF Comptroller Brig. Gen. (res.) Ofer Sharig, is conducting an unannounced inspection of the Northern Command to assess operational discipline and defensive readiness.

These surprise drills and inspections are part of the IDF’s broader effort to ensure high preparedness against emerging threats.
