Israeli aircraft on Tuesday struck an underground site in the Gaza Strip belonging to Hamas, after terrorist groups fired a rocket into Israeli territory, the Israeli military said in a statement.
The rocket was intercepted by Israel’s Iron Dome air-defense system, causing no damage or casualties.
“IDF fighter jets and a combat helicopter attacked underground infrastructure in the southern Gaza Strip belonging to the Hamas terrorist organization. The attack was carried out in response to a rocket fired from the Gaza Strip into Israeli territory earlier this evening,” the statement said.
