Israeli forces thwart Palestinian terror attack in Judea

Police blocked off the Route 437 highway in the area to traffic following the incident.

Israeli security forces on Sunday shot dead a Palestinian man who had attempted to ram his vehicle into soldiers near the town of Hizmeh, seven kilometers northeast of Jerusalem.

According to the Israel Defense Forces, the terrorist accelerated toward troops of the Binyamin Regional Brigade’s 43rd Battalion.

“The terrorist [then] pulled a knife from the vehicle and attempted to carry out a stabbing attack,” the military said.

The troops shot and neutralized the terrorist.

Police blocked off Route 437 in the area following the attack.

No other injuries were reported.

Earlier Sunday, more than 30 people were wounded in a terrorist attack near Glilot, north of Tel Aviv in central Israel.

According to reports, a truck rammed into a large group of people standing at a bus stop.

Police sources told Channel 12 that the terrorist is an Israeli resident of the Arab-Muslim city of Qalansawe in central Israel. He was identified by Israeli media as Rami Nator.

“When Israel is fighting for the safety and security of its people, it is of special significance that representatives of many countries choose to sit together around the table of freedom and express partnership,” the Israeli ambassador said.

“Citizens should contribute as much as they can to the country, and the state should give back. That kind of reciprocal relationship is our guiding principle,” she says.
