Israeli security forces on Sunday shot dead a Palestinian man who had attempted to ram his vehicle into soldiers near the town of Hizmeh, seven kilometers northeast of Jerusalem.

According to the Israel Defense Forces, the terrorist accelerated toward troops of the Binyamin Regional Brigade’s 43rd Battalion.

“The terrorist [then] pulled a knife from the vehicle and attempted to carry out a stabbing attack,” the military said.

The troops shot and neutralized the terrorist.

No other injuries were reported.
