John Rathbun, 37, was convicted of attempting to transport or receive explosive devices with the knowledge or intent to kill, injure or intimidate, or unlawfully damage or destroy property.
Blood on the side of the gas canister was run through the FBI database and matched the DNA of 36-year-old John Michael Rathbun.
Ronald S. Lauder, head of the Anti-Semitism Accountability Project, called the incident “an attempted act of terror.”
