Mohammed Said Othman gets three-year sentence for assaulting Jewish man
The three other men involved in the 2021 beating attack have already received convictions.
“While initially it wasn’t smooth sailing, I have to commend the efforts of the DA’s office,” Joseph Borgen told JNS.
Mahmoud Musa, Mohammed Othman and Mohammed Said Othman will be sentenced later this month for their assault on Joseph Borgen in May 2021.
Group activists have committed “some of the most horrific anti-Jewish violence that New York City has seen over the last three years,” said Mitchell Silber of Community Security Initiative.
Awawdeh receives longer sentence of 18 months for antisemitic attack
He previously was to receive a lighter sentence of six months, which caused a public outcry.
“If I could do it again, I would do it again,” declared Waseem Awawdeh.
The group allegedly knocked Joseph Borgen to the ground and then punched, kicked, pepper-sprayed and beat him with crutches while making anti-Semitic remarks.
