Judicial Reform

The roaring debate in Israel over Justice Minister Yariv Levin’s reforms has nothing to do with economics, the balance of powers or democracy, says Kohelet Policy Forum researcher.

Gali Baharav-Miara’s directive would prevent the PM from giving direct or indirect advice as the legislative package progresses.
“I’m controlling the government, and I’m responsible for its policies, and the policies are sensible, and responsible, and continue to be that,” says the Israeli premier.
Avi Himi allegedly fondled himself during a video call with a lawyer seeking his recommendation.
Bennett earlier this month slammed as a “distortion” the proposed legal reforms by the Benjamin Netanyahu-led government.
“It was the first time they heard the story straight, without the big bias,” MK Simcha Rothman said.
“This is a painful and necessary business step,” said Papaya Global CEO.
The reforms “will restore Israel to the legal situation of most of the leading democracies in the world, where it had been for 50 years,” says the Israeli premier.
His unofficial goal was to meet with American Jewish organizations increasingly concerned about democracy in Israel.
