“No form of hate can be fought by the subject of the hate alone,” Michal Cotler-Wunsh, Israel’s envoy for combating antisemitism, tells JNS.
“Jewish students on campus were treated horrendously by other student groups, by administrators and by faculty who were very, very pro-Hamas and very, very antisemitic,” a lawyer for the students said.
“Herman Brusselmans doesn’t even try to disguise his antisemitism,” Ernest Herzog, the head of World Jewish Congress’s Combating Anti-Semitism, Intelligence and Security Division, told JNS.
Jeremy Harris, 27, received a disorderly conduct charge for antagonism towards a police officer, a misdemeanor.
“Targeting a symbol of Jewish culture shows that these people hate Jews,” said the Combat Antisemitism Movement.
The publication’s initial title was along the lines of “terrorists spare four of seven buildings at World Trade Center,” wrote Michael Brendan Dougherty of “National Review.”
The alleged move comes as Jerusalem awaits Iran’s anticipated revenge attack for last week’s assassination in Tehran of Hamas political bureau chief Ismail Haniyeh.
Iranian Ambassador Ahmad Sadeghi tweeted his hope that the “Zionist plague” would be wiped off “the holy lands of Palestine.”
The conservative “Tasnim” news agency published a lengthy article addressing Israel’s reasons for assassinating Haniyeh without mentioning the Islamic Republic’s immediate threat of retaliation.
President Nicolás Maduro alleged that Jews were manipulating social networks, media outlets, and even satellite technology in an attempt to “steal the presidential election.”
“One of the top things that we’ve heard from students is that they’re concerned about physical safety,” said Jacob Baime, the group’s CEO.
