Defense and Security
The Israeli military is intensifying counter-terror operations in northern Samaria following Thursday’s failed bus bombings near Tel Aviv.
Guy Gilboa-Dalal and Evyatar David, childhood friends, are forced to watch the release of other hostages before being returned to captivity.
“Our examination found no injuries consistent with a bombing.”
The attack marks a significant escalation in America’s ongoing confrontations with the terrorist group, said senior U.S. defense officials.
“Terrorism has no place in society and must be repudiated. The United States’ commitment to Israel’s security is unwavering,” State Department Spokesperson Tammy Bruce said.
U.S. Deputy Middle East Envoy Morgan Ortagus described Gaza as a “depraved society.”
‘We all saw the unimaginable cruelty of the Nazis towards them and towards Shiri, Ariel and Kfir Bibas. The State of Israel must not remain silent about this.’
Nael Obeid, freed in the hostage-prisoner exchange, was sentenced to seven life terms plus 30 years for his role in the 2003 Café Hillel suicide bombing.
“Israel is a democratic state, but it is not naive,” said the legislation’s sponsor, MK Michel Buskila of the New Hope Party.
Hamas’s “despicable violation” of the deal “is a stark reminder” of its “barbaric nature,” Danny Danon wrote to U.N. Secretary-General António Guterres.
“We will not rest until every hostage is brought home and Hamas is eradicated,” the congresswoman and nominee for U.S. envoy to the United Nations said.
“I join the millions around the world honoring their memory and demanding that Hamas immediately return the remains of Shiri Bibas home to Israel,” the N.Y. governor stated.
