The comedian has questioned Israel’s existence and participated in online ridicule of a Jewish journalist by antisemites.
“Everyone on this list is poised to make history,” says Dan Macsai, editorial director of the 2021 TIME100 NEXT project. “And, in fact, many already have.”
They will receive the Generation to Generation Activism Award, having worked for the Jewish organization in Los Angeles in the early 2000s.
