“I tell students that school is giving them their playbooks of how to ‘win,’ with tests in history, language and math. I tell them that they must be a student first, then an athlete,” according to program founder Erez Lustig, who says football can be a vehicle for education.

Chaim Bloom, 36, who spent 15 years with the Tampa Bay Rays, will be “responsible for all baseball operations matters” for the team.
“Since that day, our community has resolved to stay stronger than hate and anti-Semitism,” said Steelers’ president Art Rooney II.
An estimated 85 athletes will be competing in 18 different sports on behalf of the Jewish state.

“I thank them for many years of supporting our organization. They were a great partner when they were a sponsor, but for various reasons … they’ve decided to go in a different direction,” said the team’s president and CEO Chris McGowan.
His career includes nearly 3,000 at bats, 795 hits, 95 home runs, 397 runs batted in and a lifetime batting average of .268. He now adds member of Team Israel, Israeli citizen and 2020 Olympian to his list of accomplishments.
