“We do not change the narrative by being silent in the face of misinformation,’ said the U.S. Ambassador to Israel.

U.S. Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee announced on Monday that he intends to do an interview with controversial conservative commentator Tucker Carlson, to “push back” against misinformation.

“I figure instead of him talking about me, he should talk to me,” Huckabee said during an address to the Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish organizations meeting in Jerusalem.

The Baptist Minister turned ambassador, a staunch advocate of Israel who has repeatedly spoken out against Carlson, who has been accused of dabbling in antisemitism, said that the commentator has become unrecognizable over the past few years.

“But we do not change the narrative by being silent in the face of misinformation,” said Huckabee. “We change the narrative by pushing back. Silence is agreement. It is why some of the horrific things in history have happened. Because people were silent in the face of blood libels and lies.”

The interview is scheduled to take place on Wednesday in Israel.

During an interview in Oct. 2025, Carlson called Christian Zionists “the people I despise most in the world,” though in a subsequent podcast interview, following intense backlash from Christian leaders and organizations, he issued a partial retraction.
