Sara Netanyahu, the wife of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, visited the Ohel in Queens, N.Y., late Sunday night under heavy security, reported the COLlive news site.

It is the resting place of the Lubavitcher Rebbe, Rabbi Menachem Mendel Schneerson; his wife, the rebbetzin Chaya Mushka Schneerson; and his father-in-law, Rabbi Yosef Yitzchak Schneersohn.

There, she prayed for the Jewish people; the defeat of their enemies; and the safe return of the remaining 48 hostages, both living and dead, still being held captive by terrorists in Gaza since the Hamas-led terrorist attacks in southern Israel on Oct. 7, 2023.

She was in New York City this weekend following her husband’s speech at the United Nations on Friday and ahead of his meeting on Monday with U.S. President Donald Trump in Washington, D.C.

This marked her second visit to the Ohel in the past year.

Accompanying her were directors of the Or Avner Foundation, which supports a network of Jewish educational institutions worldwide, founded by billionaire Israeli investor and philanthropist Lev Leviev. An Orthodox Jew born in Samarkand, he is also heavily involved with the Bukharia Jewish community and the Chabad-Lubavitch movement.

The delegation was led by Leviev’s daughter, Chagit Sofiev-Leviev, president of the Bukharian Jewish Congress in the United States.
