The international grassroots civil-rights movement #EndJewHatred celebrates a successful rally on Jan. 27 to support Joey Borgen, who was violently attacked by Jew-haters in May 2021, and demand that hate crimes targeting Jews be fully prosecuted. The rally took place in front of the New York State Supreme Courthouse prior to a hearing for several of the attackers.

Brooke Goldstein, the co-founder of the #EndJewHatred movement, issued the following statement:

“Today’s rally outside the New York Supreme Court is an example of the importance of the Jewish community standing up and calling for justice against Jew-hatred. No plea deal was offered at today’s hearing immediately after the #EndJewHatred movement mobilized supporters into action to call out District Attorney [Alvin] Bragg for not prosecuting antisemitic hate crimes to the fullest extent of the law. This is a step in the right direction for justice. Thank you to all of our supporters and to everyone who signed our petition to Gov. [Kathy] Hochul’s office.”

In the fight to secure justice for the Jewish people, the movement will continue to demand accountability from elected officials in protecting the Jewish community from acts of antisemitism. The movement plans to forward a petition to Hochul demanding an investigation of the New York district attorney and remove him from office for failing to uphold the rights of the Jewish community.
