Town of Liberty and Hamlet of Swan Lake present the Borscht Belt Historical Marker Project

Attendees will enjoy a lakeside concert by Klezmer Berl’s Hotsie Totsie Orkestra, which has been making people dance in New York State’s Catskill and Hudson Valley regions for 15 years.

Join the Town of Liberty, Hamlet of Swan Lake and the Borscht Belt Historical Marker Project for their third historic marker dedication on Sunday, Aug. 20, at 1:30 p.m. Afterwards stay for a lakeside klezmer concert put on by Klezmer Berl’s Hotsie Totsie Orkestra.

Klezmer Berl’s Hotsie Totsie Orkestra has been making people dance in New York State’s Catskill and Hudson Valley regions for more than15 years. The Hotsie Totsies keep the klezmer tradition alive by learning and sharing music with roots in Eastern European Jewish village life.

1:30 p.m.: Historic marker dedication at Swan Lake Park, 1658 Briscoe Road, Swan Lake, N.Y.

2-3 p.m.: Lakeside concert with Klezmer Berl’s Hotsie Totsie Orkestra

ABOUT THE BORSCHT BELT HISTORICAL MARKER PROJECT:

The Borscht Belt Historical Marker Project is a new group dedicated to identifying and commemorating locations significant to the history of the Borscht Belt, a celebrated era in American Jewish life. The project aims to fill a gap in local history, storytelling, and historic preservation by creating a large-scale historic marker trail complimented by various programming and a self-guided audio-driving tour that will traverse Sullivan and parts of Ulster Counties.
