After a faculty vote to boycott Israel and a commencement speech filled with anti-Israel rhetoric, New York politicians are set to hold hearings on the matter.
New York University’s anti-discrimination policy fails to address behaviors that cause a climate of Jew-hatred, according to the Louis D. Brandeis Center for Human Rights Under Law.
University officials had condemned the measure, saying it was not a reflection of the views of the school administration.
The free video series will feature 15- to 25-minute performances from musicians who showcase a range of “styles, heritages and histories.”
A weapon was discovered on the suspect, who was arrested and faces several charges. He has since been released.
University spokesperson Eric Mansfield said it was seen on the pavement near the entrance and has since been removed.
Canary Mission: Nerdeen Kiswani, the force behind a violent and aggressive anti-Israel group in New York City, has been chosen to give a commencement address.
They raised concerns about the effect of the BDS endorsement on the “well-being of Jewish and Zionist students at Harvard, some of whom have already reported that they have become alienated from the newspaper on account of the inhospitable culture that prevails there.”
Frank Petronio, 62, of Spencerport, N.Y., will be arraigned in July.
The cause of the fire, which ravaged the 11,000-square-foot building, is under investigation. No injuries were reported.
“Does the editorial board believe Israel even has a right to exist? Because, if so, that line is coincidentally missing,” says Natalie Kahn, a student journalist and the president of Harvard’s Hillel.
The resolution passed 10-6; it calls for boycotting Israeli academics and accuses Israel of “forced expulsion and ethnic cleansing of Palestinians.”
