Beersheva’s Soroka Medical Center said on Monday that the condition of a civilian who was seriously wounded in the Sept. 24 Houthi drone attack on Eilat had “significantly improved.”

The victim “is now fully conscious, breathing independently and remains hospitalized in the general intensive care unit,” hospital spokeswoman Yasmine Amos announced in a statement.

Two additional casualties who were hospitalized at Soroka with moderate and light injuries were released home, Amos added.

Twenty-two people were injured on Sept. 24, including two seriously, when a drone launched by Houthi terrorists in Yemen struck near a major shopping center adjacent to Eilat’s main boardwalk.

The condition of the second seriously wounded victim was not immediately clear.

In response, the Israeli military attacked Houthi targets in the Yemeni capital of Sana’a. Among the targets hit were its general staff command, security and intelligence compounds, a military propaganda office and several camps used to store arms and train fighters in the Sana’a area.
