Earthquake hits Red Sea, shakes seaside city of Eilat
No injuries or property damage were reported in the wake of the 5.4 magnitude tremor, which struck southern Israel on Tuesday afternoon.
The epicenter was around 62 miles south of Eilat in an area known as the Great Rift Valley, according to the Geophysical Institute of Israel.
Seven startups were chosen from a total of 40 applicants from various sectors, including health, smart mobility, food tech and clean tech, all seeking to develop their new business ideas in Israel.
Lawbreakers can be fined up to 730 shekels ($210).
In the first cohort of a National Science Foundation-funded program, researchers will study at the University of Haifa’s Marine Sciences school and Interuniversity Institute for Marine Sciences.
The flights were to Poznan, Poland, and round-trip from Prague.

Israel inaugurates new international airport in Eilat to boost tourism
Constructed at a cost of some $500 million, it has an annual capacity of 2.5 million passengers. It is able to handle 20 takeoffs and landings an hour and accommodate large aircraft, such as Boeing 747s.

According to the Israeli Ministry of Tourism, from January to June 2018 about 2.1 million tourist entries were recorded—an increase of 19 percent over the same period in 2017 (1.74 million) and 26 percent more than in 2016.

Israel builds ‘world’s highest anti-missile wall’ around new Ramon International Airport
