“We are still collecting more information on the deadly and unprovoked attack on our dedicated local team members and volunteers,” the group said.
“We continue to ask the news media to use caution in relying on unverified and unsubstantiated sources,” the organization stated.
“The body of Yair Yaakov, as well as the body of another hostage, who were held hostage for 613 days in Gaza, have been recovered,” stated the IDF.
“The threat of Hamas will not be allowed to remain beyond the [border] fence,” warned the IDF chief of staff.
Hebrew media cited Hamas sources as denying any significant progress had been made; “In light of past experience, I don’t want to overstate it,” says Israel’s foreign minister.
As the IDF provides air support for the Abu Shabab clan against Hamas, former defense officials debate the strategy.
In a letter to France and Saudi Arabia, the Palestinian Authority leader reportedly condemned the Hamas-led massacre of 1,200 men, women and children on Oct. 7, 2023 as “unacceptable.”
The IDF said it “will continue to operate against terrorist organizations in the Gaza Strip to ensure the security of the civilians of the State of Israel.”
The IDF fired warning shots at suspects posing a threat “hundreds of meters from the aid distribution site,” and before the center even opened, it said.
“It is outrageous that elected representatives and members of the government are subjected to these kinds of measures,” Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar stated.
The rocket, according to Israel’s military launched from northern Gaza, triggered sirens at Zikim Beach; no injuries or damage were reported.
