An Israeli low-cost airline is resuming international service from southern Israel’s Ramon International Airport next month.

Israir announced on Monday that it will operate twice-weekly direct flights from the southern Israeli city of Eilat to Athens, Greece, starting on Feb. 7, 2025. A round-trip ticket will be approximately $82 and up.

Before the war in Gaza, the airport—11 miles north of Eilat—was used by international and Israeli carriers to charter European tourists straight to the Red Sea resort city during the temperate Israeli winter months without having to fly to Israel’s main airport outside of Tel Aviv.

The budget airline is expected to add additional routes to Europe from the Ramon airport this year.

The renewed service comes amid an increase in Israeli travel to Greece, which has also become a major connecting hub to the United States and Canada at a time when direct transatlantic flights on El Al were limited and expensive as U.S. carriers repeatedly suspended flights.

Earlier this month, Israel’s newest carrier, Air Haifa, launched five weekly flights to Athens from the northern port city.
