Isaam Akel
Issem Akel was prosecuted for selling an Arab-owned home in Jerusalem to the Ateret Cohanim organization, a yeshivah group that has bought properties in the Muslim quarter of the Old City.
Issam Akel was arrested and put through a trial, despite the fact that he has U.S. citizenship, an Israeli ID card, and that the U.S. State Department and U.S. Ambassador to Israel demanded his release.
