Hadash-Ta’al parliamentarian Aida Touma-Suleiman tweeted on Tuesday that her party was in danger of failing to win enough votes to enter the Knesset and called for help from Jewish voters.
“Our Jewish partners: According to the current rate of voting, Hadash-Ta’al is in real danger of not passing the [3.25% electoral] threshold,” Touma Sliman tweeted.
“For the first time in 74 years, there is a real chance that the clearest voice against the occupation and for Arab-Jewish partnership will disappear from the Knesset. I implore you: Don’t let the fascists win! Go vote for peace, equality and social justice!”
Arab parties have been scrambling to get out the vote with polls predicting a low turnout. Arab voters appear to have been discouraged following the breakup of the Joint List alliance, which was at its height in the March 2020 election, when it was composed of four Arab parties (Hadash, Ta’al, Ra’am and Balad) and won 15 Knesset seats.
Touma-Sliman’s cry for help from “Jewish partners” contrasted with her social media post on Oct. 25, when she mourned the death of terrorists in Nablus.
Following an Israeli security operation in which terrorists were killed in their explosives lab, Touma-Sliman posted on Facebook: “Nablus bid farewell to our martyrs today. Our Palestinian nation bids farewell to its martyrs.
“The more the occupation [Israel] increases its crimes, the resistance escalates,” she added.
During the raid, Israeli forces raided the makeshift headquarters of the Lions’ Den terror group, killing the group’s leader, Wadi al-Houh, and two other members.
The Lions’ Den was responsible for the murder of IDF St. Sgt. Ido Baruch in Samaria on Oct. 11 and attempted to carry out a terrorist attack in Tel Aviv on Sept. 8.
