Israel is joining global efforts through November to raise awareness for men’s health, the state’s official X account tweeted on Friday.
A global campaign that started in Australia in 2003 and which is now known as “Movember”—because men grow moustaches (“mo,” an Australian slang for moustache) throughout November—focuses on prostate cancer, testicular cancer, suicide prevention and men’s mental health.
The annual campaign encourages men to get regular check-ups and screenings, and to lead healthier lifestyles.
“Throughout November, we raise awareness of men’s physical and mental health issues. A small conversation, a routine check, or a simple gesture of support can save lives,” Israel’s X account stated.
This Movember, Israel joins the global effort to promote men’s health, awareness, and early detection.

The Movember Foundation, a global charity, runs the annual campaign and funds “groundbreaking projects all over the world, engaging men where they are to understand what works best and accelerate change,” according to the organization’s website.
