Poll shows that Israelis support US embassy move, IDF actions on Gaza border

According to a poll conducted by Tel Aviv University and the Israel Democracy Institute, 63 percent of Israelis believe that the impending move of the U.S. embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem will benefit Israel.

According to a poll conducted by Tel Aviv University and the Israel Democracy Institute, 63 percent of Israelis believe that the impending move of the U.S. embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem will benefit Israel.

The Peace Index survey’s findings indicated even higher support, of 68 percent, among Jewish Israelis.

On May 14, the secular calendar anniversary of Israel, the United States will hold a ceremony officially dedicating its current consulate in Jerusalem as the official U.S. Embassy in Israel. The existing site will be expanded in the coming years and eventually replaced with a brand-new facility.

The poll also indicated that 83 percent of Israeli Jews strongly support the Israel Defense Forces’s recent efforts over the past five weeks to secure the Israel-Gaza border.

Mass riots by Gazans, led by the Hamas terror organization, have led the IDF to use live fire to combat the explosive, rocks, Molotov cocktails, burning tires and lit kites that have caused damage to fields, forests and military security equipment.

“We are burning inside with hate, with longing, with infinite sadness,” an Israeli reservist, who was injured in Gaza and saw three of his unit members killed, told attendees.
The legislation, modeled on a Kentucky law, “reaffirms New York’s commitment to accommodating religious practices and cultural traditions,” state senator Sam Sutton’s office told JNS.
The student allegedly made statements in a group chat, later claiming that it was a joke.
The military stands in “solidarity and unity” with global Jewish communities, said the IDF chief of staff.
