Undercover Israeli forces nab terror cell near Jenin

Jerusalem launched “Operation Iron Wall” on Jan. 21 to neutralize the threat posed by Iran-backed terror groups across Judea and Samaria.

Israeli security forces on Tuesday arrested members of a terrorist cell in the city of Qabatiya, just south of Jenin in Samaria, according to the Israel Police.

Undercover Border Police officers, backed by Israel Defense Forces troops, “arrived covertly, apprehended the wanted individuals, and they were transferred for further investigation,” police said in a statement.

“There are no casualties among our forces,” the statement added.

On Monday, the IDF announced that troops operating near Ramallah uncovered an explosives laboratory and apprehended a terrorist cell suspected of planning attacks on civilians and soldiers in the area.

The previous day, the Israel Security Agency (Shin Bet) announced a major raid against a Hamas terror network in the Judean city of Hebron, describing it as “one of the largest uncovered in recent years.”

More than 60 terrorists were arrested during the operation, and 22 arms were confiscated. According to the Shin Bet, the cell had plans to carry out attacks “in the immediate future.” The operation was conducted in cooperation with IDF soldiers and the Israel Police.

Palestinian terrorists targeted Israeli Jews in Judea and Samaria at least 6,343 times last year, according to figures published by the Rescuers Without Borders (Hatzalah Judea and Samaria) NGO on Feb. 17.

Twenty-seven Israelis were murdered in Judea and Samaria in 2024, and more than 300 others were wounded, the group said in its annual report.

“The infrastructure sites struck were used by Hezbollah terrorists to advance and carry out attacks against IDF soldiers operating in Southern Lebanon,” the military said.
