Israel’s ambassador to the United Kingdom, Tzipi Hotovely, has shared best wishes and hopes for recovery for Kate Middleton, on behalf of the State of Israel.

“On behalf of the State of Israel, I send my sincerest good wishes to Her Royal Highness, the Princess of Wales, as she bravely undergoes treatment. Her Royal Highness and the Royal Family remain in the hearts and minds of all Israelis as we pray for The Princess’s return to full health,” she tweeted.

On Friday night, Middleton announced that while her surgery earlier this year was successful, tests after the operation found cancer had been present. The princess is undergoing preventative chemotherapy treatment and is unlikely to resume public duties until receiving the all clear from her doctors. In the past few weeks, the princess has been the subject of global speculation and conspiracy theories and cruel attacks on social media.

The future queen is the second senior royal diagnosed with cancer this year.

In February, King Charles announced that he had been diagnosed with a form of cancer, following routine prostate checks.

Israeli President Isaac Herzog wished King Charles a “full and speedy recovery” on behalf of the Israeli people.

“I have greatly appreciated my recent conversations and the opportunities to meet with His Majesty, and have always greatly benefited from his wisdom and insight. I look forward to seeing His Majesty’s swift return to public engagements,” tweeted Herzog.

Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu, his wife, Sara, and Foreign Minister Israel Katz also extended their well wishes and hopes for a speedy recovery to the monarch.

The type of cancer both royals are receiving treatment for has not been disclosed to the public.
