The gravesite of the daughter of late Chassidic spiritual leader Rabbi Nachman of Breslov was vandalized in Ukraine with pieces of a pig, including a skull.

Sarah’s grave is located in a cemetery in the city of Kremenchuk, Ukraine, where she was buried 186 years ago next to other family members, The Jerusalem Post reported, citing the haredi news outlet Kikar Hashabat.

Breslov Chassidim discovered the vandalism while visiting the area last week and reported it to the police.

The Breslov Chassidic leader was born in Medzhybizh, Ukraine, in 1772 and died in Uman in 1810. Around 150,000 people, including his followers, known as Bratslavers, visit his grave in Uman every year.

The site will be open this High Holiday season after a back-and-forth regarding visitors last year at the height of the coronavirus.
