Why Israel shouldn’t heed the ICJ’s immoral genocide ruling

The International Court of Justice, an arm of the United Nations, put forth an interim ruling on Jan. 26 that doesn’t say whether or not Israel is committing genocide and doesn’t call for a ceasefire in the war against Hamas. So is it a win or loss for Israel? Should Israel abide by the court’s demands? If the court has no way to enforce its ruling, then what’s really going on here? “I was eventually told by the police that there’s not much that they could do and the case would ultimately get thrown out,” Nir Golan told a public inquiry of the 2023 attack.
