“Israel will always continue to assist our friend and ally Guatemala,” said Israel’s Ambassador to Guatemala and Honduras Mattanya Cohen.
It joins a network that mobilizes support for Israel based on shared Judeo-Christian values, a movement that the Israel Allies Foundation calls “faith-based diplomacy.”
“Many members of our community have a strong Zionist fervor, and they have friends and family in Israel or spent some time studying there,” says a local leader.
