Amos Hochstein was dispatched to Beirut to calm tensions between Israel and Iran’s Lebanese terror proxy.
“We deal with both removing threats and preparing all the possibilities to be able to attack wherever we decide,” Israel’s defense minister said.
Israelis reported feeling the quake as far south as Beersheva.
Lebanese Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri said a major attack by Hezbollah on the Jewish state is only a matter of time.
Nabih Berri, an ally of the Iranian terror proxy, added that a “response or revenge is a dish that is eaten cold.”
Iran’s Lebanese terror proxy said the target of the attack was an IDF position near Ga’aton.
Iran and its Hezbollah proxy have vowed to avenge both the assassination of Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh and Hezbollah commander Fuad Shukr.
The attack caused no injuries but started several fires and damaged a hydrotherapy center.
Arab diplomats have also pressed Iran to de-escalate the situation.
Air-raid sirens sound in Kiryat Shmona and Metula as enemy rockets hit open areas.
