The shofar is a battle cry, not a whisper

We are here because our ancestors were unbreakable survivors who refused to accept defeat. That same resilience is our responsibility today.

If you are Jewish or a friend of the Jewish people, this is your wake-up call.

We are living in a time when silence equals surrender. The lies and propaganda against Jews and against Israel grow louder every day. If we sit back, if we hesitate, if we think that others will carry the burden for us, then we fail not only ourselves but also the generations who came before us and those who will come after.

This Rosh Hashanah is not just a holiday—it is a summons to action.

Here is the reality: Jews make up less than 16 million out of a world of more than 8 billion. Just 0.2% of humanity. A fraction. A sliver. And yet, our tiny people have transformed civilization—bringing the world morality, ethical monotheism, the pursuit of justice, scientific discovery, artistic brilliance and an eternal message of human dignity. We are a small nation, yes—but we must be an active nation.

A nation of leaders. A nation of activists. A nation that helps ourselves and helps others.

The enemies of the Jewish people are not silent. They are loud. They are relentless. Islamist extremists and their enablers push propaganda that spreads like wildfire across governments, media, campuses and cultural spaces. Their false narrative overshadows Jewish reality. Those who hate Jews on the far right are out shadowed by those who hate Jews on the far left—and they sometimes even join together united by their shared bigoted hatred. Old antisemitism has blended with new antisemitism.

But here is the truth: Victimhood will not save us. Anger alone will not protect us. Complaining will not defend us. We must not wallow in pain, stress or despair. Our people have never survived by giving in to helplessness. We are here because our ancestors were resilient, determined and unbreakable survivors who refused to accept defeat.

That same resilience is our responsibility today.

I often say: I dont fight back. I fight forward.

Every day, I act on purpose, with purpose—whether on broadcast news, in government affairs, in writing articles, social media, leading workshops, being an invited speaker at synagogues, churches, community centers, college campuses, conferences and meetings with community leaders. I motivate, educate, inform, inspire and activate Jews and allies to be better advocates and representatives. In turn, I am equally motivated and inspired by the very act of taking action itself.

Too often, people thank me for this work. My response is always the same: Dont thank me.Join me.” Because Jewish survival cannot be subcontracted. Jewish pride cannot be outsourced. Our future cannot be left to a handful of voices. Every Jew must be an advocate. Every ally must be unapologetic in standing with us.

The shofar does not whisper. It blasts. It demands that we awaken, rise and act.

Am Israel Chai is not just a slogan. It is a commitment, a charge, a way of life.

This year, as we enter 5786, the question before us is simple: Will we sit back and hope for others to carry the fight, or will we step forward and take our rightful place as leaders of our people and defenders of our future?

The shofar blast is sounding. It is not only a wakeup call. It is a battle cry.

Dont thank me. Join me.
