AFHU is headquartered in New York and has seven regional offices working in close partnership with the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. A consummate fundraising professional, Pressman previously served as West Coast Executive Director for American Friends of the Israel Philharmonic, one of the world’s foremost orchestras.
Prof. Reinharz is considered one of the leading figures in the study of modern Jewish history. In addition to his role as head of the Mandel Foundation, he is the Richard Koret Professor of Modern Jewish History at Brandeis University.
Mrs. Jacobs-Lepor serves on the Board of Managers for U.S. Medical Innovations, LLC, a privately held FDA-registered biomedical device company focusing on the fields of plasma electrosurgical devices, robotic mini-invasive technology, and the eradication of cancer using cold plasma.
Following careers in fashion and interior design, Mrs. Wechsler became a celebrated artist and photographer. Her photographs are held in numerous private collections and by the Museum of Modern Art in New York.
As early as the 1960s, Prof. Bailyn was conducting groundbreaking research on women in the workforce and has continued to be a staunch voice calling for gender equity within academia, STEM fields, and the corporate world.
Mr. Neubauer, who served as chief executive officer of Aramark from 1984-2012, is also widely recognized for his generosity and dedication to higher education as well as civic achievements.
Mr. Kilberg currently serves as the Chairman of the Board of Vorbeck Materials Corporation, a technology company that produces graphene-based electronic communication systems for military and civilian use.
The George A. Katz Torch of Learning Award recognizes an honoree’s leadership, scholarship and dedication to the betterment of humanity.
