“Blotting out the memory of Amalek is our job,” said bereaved father Nissim Louk.
“Hamas terrorists wanted to show Shani Louk’s dead body as a prize, and the University of Missouri gave them a prize,” said organizer Daniel Swindell.
“This photo captures Hamas terrorists desecrating the body of Shani Louk, may her soul rest in peace,” wrote Knesset member Danny Danon. “Yet the AP news agency proudly received an award for it.”
The Pictures of the Year award honored photographer Ali Mahmud for a photo showing the half-naked body of Shani Louk being abducted to Gaza.
Footage of the young woman being paraded in the back of a truck around Gaza was one of the first to emerge on Oct. 7. Shani’s mother, Rikki, talks about the exhibition, launched on would have been her 23rd birthday.
Tel Aviv’s Nahum Gutman Museum of Art marked Shani Louk’s 23rd birthday with an exhibition of her art. Louk was murdered by Hamas terrorists at the Supernova music festival on Oct. 7.
