The leaders discussed ways to deepen bilateral trade and cooperation, as well as the threats posed by Iran.
“Africa is blossoming and so is the potential for relations between Israel and countries on the continent,” said Israeli Foreign Minister Eli Cohen.
The $5.4 million project will connect Mount Zion with the Hinnom Valley to the south.
“Both of our countries face the threat of terrorism, especially the spread of Hezbollah, Iran’s terrorist arm,” the Israeli FM said.
The visit comes a day after Israeli Foreign Minister Eli Cohen opened the first Israel-Ghana business forum.
The accord will ease activity for Israeli exporters in a growing market.
During their meeting in Washington, the Israeli president and U.S. vice president also discussed the Iran threat, the Abraham Accords and the Judea and Samaria security situation.
The Israeli delegation included Yehezkel Lifshitz, the director of Israel’s Water Authority, and Yehonatan Bar-Yosef, project manager of Water Quality Management & Ecology at KKL-JNF.
Some three dozen demonstrators have been arrested, one was accidently hit by a car.
