Air Canada began flights to Israel on Thursday, becoming the latest carrier to restore service to Tel Aviv following Israel’s 12-day war with Iran in June.

The Canadian flag carrier is renewing daily flights to Israel from Toronto, although service from Montreal will only resume in the spring.

International carriers planning to restore service to Israel this month include British Airways, Iberia, the German low-cost carrier Eurowings, and Scandinavian Airlines.

The return to Israel of Europe’s biggest low-cost carrier, Ryanair, has been pushed off indefinitely due to a dispute with the Israel Airports Authority over regaining its past flight slots.

The move also comes as Ryanair rival Hungarian low-cost airline Wizz Air is set to open a hub in Israel next year, which is expected to shake up the aviation market and dramatically bring down airfares.

Amb. Yechiel Leiter said the U.S. congressman ignored coordination offers and used a brief military stop to spark an anti-Israel media frenzy.
