“We don’t have every nationality in America speak at a convention,” the former House speaker told reporters at the convention in Chicago.
Chicago has yet to issue permit for pro-Israel demonstrators, despite massive number of Hamas-supporting protesters expected.
“It’s foundation is cemented in the ties between our people,” said Maryland Sen. Ben Cardin.
Rep. Gregory W. Meeks (D-N.Y.) and Sen. Ben Cardin (D-Md.) signed the deal, which includes 50 F-15s worth $18 bil after months of intense pressure from the Biden administration and pro-Israel advocates.
“We have great confidence in the Israeli judicial system’s ability to administer justice,” the eight U.S. senators stated.
“We must correct disinformation and denialism about the dangers of prejudice,” said the senior senator from Maryland.
In a video announcing his retirement, the Jewish Democratic senator from Maryland referred to “tikkun olam” and “tzedakah.”
“We discussed the region’s most pressing challenges, starting with Iran and its destabilizing influence. We also reiterated the unwavering bond between the U.S. and Israel,” tweeted Israel’s defense minister.
“I don’t like to second-guess Israel’s government’s decisions, although I have been pretty critical of a lot of policies under the Netanyahu prime ministership,” said Sen. Ben Cardin (D-Md.).
