Israeli study finds cannabis oil improves autism-related symptoms in teens
A new Israeli study shows that more than 80 percent of children with autism-related symptoms who took cannabis oil enjoyed moderate to significant improvement in their condition.
Israeli American Professor Daniel Chamovitz is set to take over where his predecessor, Professor Rivka Carmi, the first woman president of an Israeli university and there for 12 years, took off.
“As a resident of Sderot, which has been suffering from incessant rocket fire and incendiary bombs, it is a disgrace that the university is hosting a band that encourages Gaza ‘freedom fighters,’ said Dov Trachtman, a master’s student at Ben-Gurion University.
Funds will go towards building expansion, classrooms, and academic and administrative staff positions.

Artificial sweeteners turn gut bacteria toxic, says joint study
Giving new meaning to the phrase “sickly sweet,” researchers at Ben-Gurion University of the Negev have found that artificial sweeteners are toxic to digestive gut microbes.
When food-deprived test subjects were given different-sized plates, they ultimately identified the same portion of pizza, debunking a theory that choosing a smaller-size plate may trick the mind into believing that the amount of food on it is more ample than on a larger plate.

Two Israeli universities listed among global Top 100
The Technion, in the 93rd spot last year, shot up to the 77th spot among universities across the globe. Hebrew University, which did not make the list last year, reached the 95th slot.

Medical cannabis can ‘significantly reduce’ chronic pain for elderly, Israeli researchers find
Medical cannabis therapy can significantly reduce chronic pain in patients 65 years and older without any adverse effects, according to researchers at Ben-Gurion University of the Negev (BGU) and the Cannabis Clinical Research Institute at Soroka University Medical Center in Beersheva.
