The Justice Ministry’s legal adviser concluded that Attorney General Gali Baharav-Miara faces a potential conflict of interest in the affair.
The government had vowed to boycott the hearing and did not file a response to the court.

The incident at Yariv Levin’s home came after the minister changed the locks on an office shared with outgoing Attorney General Gali Baharav-Miara.
“The office is the office of the minister, not of the attorney Baharav-Miara,” stated Levin. Israel Bar Association head Amit Becher urged Levin’s arrest over the move, calling him an “existential threat” to the state.
The prime minister was not present during the vote to avoid a conflict of interest.
The Supreme Court has ruled that if the attorney general is fired, it will not take effect until the decision is reviewed by the court.
The vote was called after the Supreme Court ruled against Attorney General Gali Baharav-Miara’s claim that the hearing was illegal.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will be allowed to choose the next head of the Shin Bet in two months.
Gali Baharav-Miara accused the government of turning her dismissal into “a purely political process.”
The government does not plan to submit a response to the High Court of Justice in the case against Gali Baharav-Miara’s dismissal proceedings.
