Hady Amr

The State Department has said it wants to “rebuild the relationship” with Palestinians, said Andrew Miller, deputy assistant secretary of state.
“We are going to stay focused on advancing towards equal security, freedom and justice for Israelis and Palestinians alike,” Hady Amr says.
The position will be filled by Hady Amr, who has served for two years as deputy assistant secretary of state for Israel and Palestinian Affairs.
Acting Assistant Secretary for Near Eastern Affairs Yael Lempert and Deputy Assistant Secretary for Israeli-Palestinian Affairs Hady Amr plan to stop in Jordan, Israel, the West Bank and Egypt.
U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken said that in total, America will provide $360 million in support for the Palestinians and that America will “work with partners to ensure that Hamas does not benefit from these reconstruction efforts.”
Michael Ratney served as consul general in Jerusalem under former President Barack Obama, and later, as a special envoy to Syria.
The envoy aims to “reinforce the need to work toward a sustainable calm, recognizing Israel’s right to self-defense.”
The top U.S. diplomat said Deputy Assistant Secretary of State Hady Amr is being sent to the region to meet with Israelis and Palestinians to de-escalate the situation.
“It was a constructive conversation and further communications were agreed upon,” tweeted Hussein al-Sheikh.
