The Israeli prime minister thanked the top U.S. diplomat for his support “in the war of eliminating Hamas and securing the release of our hostages.”
The city body voted to call for a permanent ceasefire in Israel, amid comments from community members promoting conspiracy theories that Israel attacked itself.
“On behalf of the entire people of Israel and all citizens of Israel, I salute you; you are genuine heroes. Well done.”
Previous statements by the two sides had said only eight hostages and three bodies would be returned on Thursday.
Eight women and children to be released on Thursday, along with the bodies of three hostages.
Air power, tank and artillery shells, D9s and infantry fire are all part of the resumption of war.
The office of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu released the list of the 16 hostages who returned to Israel in the most recent round of exchanges with Palestinian prisoners.
The U.S. secretary of state added that “the events of Oct. 7 only further confirm” the U.S. commitment to a two-state solution.
The Islamists attributed their deaths to “a previous Israeli shelling.”
“Will Israel return to fighting? My answer is an unequivocal yes,” said the Israeli prime minister.
“Hamas is going nowhere, and if we continue to negotiate with them, they will continue stretching these negotiations ... We cannot allow this to happen,” said Mosab Hassan Yousef.
“I will remain grateful for the sacrifice Rami made to save me for the rest of my life.”
