The move comes amid intelligence reports that Israel’s recent military operations against Hamas are reaping rewards.
“To truly win, to achieve long-term victory, will be to have many residents living here,” Lt. Gen. Herzi Halevi said.
The general spoke amid ongoing attacks by the Houthis and other Iranian proxies.
“We are exerting pressure on Hamas daily, driving it into greater distress, to ensure the return of the 100 hostages.”
“We are not intervening in what is happening in Syria. We are here to stop terrorist elements from establishing themselves,” said Lt. Gen. Herzi Halevi.
Gen. Michael Kurilla discussed the situation in Syria and countering Iran with top military and security officials.
“The IDF will not hesitate to use force to stop attempts to smuggle arms to Hezbollah.”
The Israeli military is sending Hamas a clear message, said Halevi: “The IDF does not tire. The more we fight, the stronger we become.”
The failure of the intelligence services on Oct. 7, 2023 to discern Hamas’s plans has disqualified the promotion of inside officers.
