The IDF launched a drone strike Wednesday in the Tamun area of northern Samaria, targeting a terrorist cell responsible for planting explosives near Israeli forces.
According to the official Palestinian news agency Wafa, the drone strike killed three individuals, identified as Reda Basharat, 9, Hamza Basharat, 10, and Adam Basharat, 23. The IDF is reviewing the identities of those killed to determine their involvement, according to Ynet.
The Wednesday strike is part of ongoing counterterrorism operations in northern Samaria. Earlier, on Monday night, two terrorists were killed in a similar operation in Tamun after opening fire on Israeli security forces engaged in counterterror operations across Judea and Samaria.
An Israeli soldier was severely wounded in an exchange of fire with a Palestinian gunman in Taluza, northeast of Nablus (Shechem) in Samaria. The gunman was killed, a wanted individual was apprehended, and an AK-47 rifle was confiscated, according to the IDF.
The soldier, from the Samaria Regional Brigade’s 7037th Battalion, was evacuated to the hospital for treatment, and his family was notified, the military said. A total of 18 people were arrested, and additional weapons were seized during the operations.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Monday evening held a situation assessment regarding Judea and Samaria, following a deadly Palestinian terrorist attack earlier in the day.
The meeting was attended by Defense Minister Israel Katz, IDF Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Herzi Halevi and Israel Security Agency (Shin Bet) Director Ronen Bar.
“The prime minister approved the operations to apprehend the terrorists and bring them to justice, as well as a series of additional offensive and defensive actions in Judea and Samaria,” according to a statement from Netanyahu’s office.
Three people were killed and eight were wounded in the terrorist shooting on Monday morning next to the Palestinian village of Al-Funduq, located close to Kedumim in Samaria.
“We will find the abhorrent murderers and settle accounts with them and with all those who aided them. No one will get away,” Netanyahu said after the attack.
