The Israeli Air Force intercepted a projectile fired on Friday by Palestinians terrorists in the Gaza Strip, the military confirmed.
The rocket was shot down after it crossed into Israeli territory, triggering air raid sirens in communities along the Gaza border.
No injuries or damage were reported.
On Wednesday, the Israel Defense Forces intercepted a terrorist rocket fired from the northern Gaza Strip toward the coastal city of Ashkelon.
Air raid sirens sent some of the Israeli city’s 150,000-plus residents, as well as civilians visiting its industrial zone, running to bomb shelters.
Palestinian terrorists in Gaza fired two rockets toward Israeli territory on Sunday amid the expansion of Israeli ground operations in the coastal enclave.
One of the rockets was intercepted, while the other hit in an open area, according to the military. No casualties or damage were reported.
That attack came shortly after the IDF announced it had launched extensive ground operations against Hamas terrorists in the Strip as part of “Operation Gideon’s Chariots.”
